CESSA (Centro de Estudios Superiores de San Ángel) Summer Culinary Arts Program
Vive Mexico! A two-part unique summer culinary arts program housed in some of the world’s most state-of-the-art test kitchens is available to Conrad N. Hilton College students. Take your culinary skills to the next level in a superior learning environment.
Program Description:
Two weeks of “Culinary Boot Camp” in Houston developing and polishing basic skills (HRMA 4296 prerequisite course), then two weeks putting those skills to practice at the beautiful campus of Centro de Estudios Superiores de San Ángel (CESSA), in Mexico City, Mexico (3 credit course).
2010 TENTATIVE DATES:
Part I Houston – July 19-30
Part II Mexico – August 1-14
About Houston: Intensive, in-depth training on culinary equipment and techniques, the mother sauces (bechemal, espagnole, tomato, veloute, and hollandaise), and much more…….

Application Requirements:
*Must be a declared HRM major and at least sophomore status
*Minimum cumulative GPA requirement of 2.75
*Must have at least one semester remaining at UH upon return from abroad
Application Procedures:
Selected applicants agree to:
*Submit a $100 non-refundable fee that applies to the spring 2010 fee bill
*Apply for an
International Educational Fee Scholarship (IEFS) (deadline October 1st)
*Comply with all requirements, deadlines, and procedures of the
UH Office of International Studies & Programs (OISP). Please note that
OISP requires an additional application form and a number of documents for
outgoing exchange students.
*Spend up to 4 hours assisting the Hilton College with study abroad exchange
activities (i.e. promote at organization fair, short presentations to students
about the experience, greet/assist incoming exchange students, advise outgoing
exchange students etc.) during the semester after returning.

Personal preferences affect the total cost of your program.
Participants should plan for the trip and budget appropriately.
