Lynn & Ed Hogan

Lynn & Ed Hogan

In 1959 Lynn and Ed Hogan opened their first retail travel agency, Pleasant Travel Service. They are now the Chairman and Vice Chairman of Pleasant Travel Service, Incorporated and Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays. Total revenues exceed $400 million annually and employ over 1700 people.

Ed began his career flying for Sky Coach, after he earned his commercial pilot's license after serving in the Navy. He later joined Transocean Air Lines, which became the first tourist flight operation to Hawaii. Lynn received her bachelor's degree in graphic arts from Pratt Art Institute in Brooklyn, New York. She began her career with a New Jersey advertising agency and followed that by becoming an airline stewardess. Ed and Lynn were married in 1951 and following their marriage she worked as an artist for Walt Disney Studios in Burbank working on picture cells for "Peter Pan."

The Hogan's are very committed to community service and involvement. In 1998, the Hogan Family Foundation was formed. The foundation is a non-profit entity with the mission to "promote greater understanding of the importance of travel and tourism within our society and the world as a whole by creating and operating educational, humanitarian, and civic-minded programs that encourage meaningful communication between people of all cultures." In that same year, Pleasant Holidays, L.L.C. was created with all of the profits being donated to the Foundation. They also established the Hogan Angel Flight Fund in 1999, which provides airline tickets to patients needing treatment who are unable to afford the cost.

The Hogan's reside on Westlake Island in California. Ed and Lynn are avid horseback riders and enjoy training and showing their Arabian horses. Besides their love of horses, they are avid golf enthusiasts as well.

Lynn and Ed have received numerous awards through their illustrious career. In 2000 Travel Agent Magazine recognized them as travel industry leaders. Ed has also received the Executive of the Year award by Executive Magazine; Ed and Lynn were inducted into the ASTA World Travel Hall of Fame; and Ed was an inductee into the Travel Industry Hall of Leaders. One of Ed's most prized awards was being named "Mr. Tourism Hawaii" by the state's Senate after Pleasant Holidays sent it's two-millionth visitor to the islands.
