Glenn Cordúa y Cruz
Visiting Assistant Professor and Director of W&SMI

Congratulations to Dr. Glenn Cordua, who recently passed the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 3 Advanced Certificate Exam with merit. Recipients of this prestigious certification must prove their in-depth knowledge of a wide range of wines and spirits, with an increased focus on tasting technique. Dr. Cordua’s next steps toward becoming one of roughly only 130 Masters of Wine in the world are to take a series of six diploma exams over the next year, followed by the Master of Wine exam, tasting and dissertation. Because Dr. Cordua has passed this level of certification, the Hilton College can now become a training and testing center for the introductory and intermediate certificates of the Wine & Sprits Education Trust.

The WSET was founded in 1969 to provide high quality education and training in wines and spirits. Headquartered in London, the organization conducts wine education courses, spirits courses and wine tastings in 39 countries. It has grown into the foremost international body in the field of wines and spirits education, with a suite of sought-after qualifications.

Dr. Cordua is the founder and director of the Wine & Spirits Management Institute at the Conrad N. Hilton College. As a member of the faculty, he teaches courses on Beverage Management, Standards of Alcoholic Beverages, and other alcoholic beverage and bar management related classes.
