Alumni and students attending the 2012 National Restaurant Association Show May 5-8 in Chicago are invited to a special alumni-student happy hour at the legendary Coq d'Or at The Drake Hotel. Join us to reconnect and network at this legendary restored Chicago hotel bar that opened one day after the repeal of Prohibition on December 6, 1933. Dean John Bowen will be your host. It's springtime and graduation time, so let's celebrate at the May alumni-student happy hour at the Embassy Suites Downtown! The Massad family--Nick ('73), Vicki (Hon. '03), Margo ('03), Taylor ('03) and Nicholas ('02)--are our hosts and they will be serving cake and champagne as we toast our Spring 2012 graduates. There will be complimentary drinks (two drink tickets), appetizers and great conversation. A cash bar is also available. It's the big day! Graduating Hilton College students will walk and receive their degrees during the Spring 2012 General Commencement at the University of Houston. Immediately following the ceremony at Hofheinz Pavilion, a reception will be held for graduates and their families and friends in the Conrad Hilton Ballroom at the Hilton University of Houston. Come and cheer on our graduates, then join us at the reception!

Students from HRMA 4344/6344, California Wine Experience, will visit the wineries and vineyards of Napa and Sonoma with behind-the-scenes VIP access. They'll learn about the wine business, grape growing and the winemaking process through hands-on exploration. Winery tours, seminars and tastings included.
