| Connecting you with your career goals. Whether you need advice on pursuing your dream career, job placement, résumé help or interview tips, the Career Placement Services office is here for you. Lori Osborn, director of Placement Services, is dedicated to helping you achieve your career goals. She has an extensive network of contacts in the industry and is eager to help you succeed. And succeed you will—in a typical year, 90 to 95 percent of our graduates have jobs upon graduation! The Career Placement Services office can connect you with job openings in the field of hospitality that interests you—whether it's full time or part time, entry level or supervisory. As a Hilton College student, you can also participate in our twice-yearly Career Fairs, featuring a wide variety of industry employers, and our Career Awareness Workshops, which help you prepare for interviews during your job search. We encourage students to come to the Career Placement Services office during their first semester at the College to begin connecting with job opportunities. Work experience is extremely important in the hospitality industry, and it's never too soon to get started! We also urge you to register with ListServ to receive regular job and internship announcements. Prior to your first appointment with Career Placement Services, be sure and e-mail a copy of your résumé to Lori Osborn, and bring a hard copy with you. The office will help you identify what jobs you might be qualified for and coach you on how to land an interview. If you're a senior, it's important to register with Placement Services during the semester you will be graduating. The deadline to register is two weeks prior to the Career Fair during your graduating semester. In addition, as a University of Houston student, you're eligible to use University Career Services to search for jobs, post your résumé, apply for work-study positions and search for workshops and career fairs.
